AWOL.

I think it is a good thing when your routine gets a little shaken up. For the past month (well longer now) my life has been without routine. I moved to Boston for a month for radiation treatment. I was unable to be as strict about eating raw foods (i mean when you throw in Thanksgiving and all of the great restaurants in Boston, forget it!). I worked from home, so i set my own schedule. I didn't get a chance to go out hiking at all (unless you consider walking to the hospital hiking...). I didn't see Mc or Ganga for practically the whole month. I went out almost every night seeing old friends, and making some new ones. And then throw in a new romance *wink* and you have the makings of....a pretty drastic change in routine. I hate when my life gets mundane and the same, and i NEVER want to be one of those people stuck in a routine, or rut as it is probably better defined. Life is WAY too short to have it be uneventful, predictable (to a certain extent), boring and stagnate.

Radiation finished on 12/4/08 with little fanfare...i was hoping for balloons, and confetti, and a big trophy. What i ended up with was a hug from some of the techs, and a really gorgeous sunburn, which doesn't fade into a tan, but rather turns gray and looks like a chemical burn..oh yeah and caused my shoulders and neck to be all freckly. It is getting better though. I have a scan on 12/18. At that point i should know more about the Stem Cell transplant and when that is to take place. Hopefully sooner rather then later.

Arm pit-totally gross....i know!

Gross and peeling! Nasty...i know!

So my new romantic interest, Mr. Incog Nito** and i did a winter ascent of Mt. Chocura yesterday. I really love that peak...as the views are just incredible. We didn't make it to the true summit as the rime ice and wind scoured snow, made for dangerous conditions without crampons (which i forgot!). Anyhow, it was still a lovely day to be out; crisp, cold and alive.

Look at Mc's face! He is SOOO happy to be out, in the snow!

Then today i went to Amanda and Gordie's for our (now) annual Christmas cookie baking soiree. Amanda's mom and sister also came, which made it all the more fun.....more people=more cookies!!

** Due to issues of bashfulness and insecurity, Mr. Icog Nito has chosen to remain unnamed.
